255/75/R17's on 17x9's

thx! So you think a 9 inch rim will work OK on the factory 255/75/R17's for the short run? The factory wheel is 7.5".

InfernoGirl What you have planned will work. No need for spacers. You will rub the front air dam at full lock, but it's easy to trim, and the rear wheel well may be very close. Some folks trim theirs, but we never did, and haven't rubbed the rails at all. We put flat flares on to gain more clearance, but I believe several folks run 35's w/2.5" lift.

Is there a matrix?

Seems like no lack of questions around tires, rims, backspace, offset, etc. Am wondering if anyone ever created a matrix cross referencing all this so that one could choose a year/model, tire size and then look up min/max wheel stats like diameter, width, offset, backspace and anything else needed (like spacers)?

I have a new 2011 Rubicon w/ 2.5" lift out of the dealer. Have the stock 32's (255/75/R17's) on factory rims. I want to replace the stock Rubicon rims with Black Rhino 17x9's (-12mm offset, 4.5" BS) and want to know if that will work. Then want to go to a 35" on the same wheels and am looking for guidance on lift required, any critical backspace info or need to add spacers. This is a DD that plays on firelanes in Northern Wisconsin. Lot's of mud, not so many rocks.
