Brianmlove if you take off your battery tray there is actually a sensor that mounts flush to the bottom of the tray. Found that out the other day when I installed my dual battery tray

Code says: Ambient/Battery Temp Sensor volts too high...
External temperature sensor input above acceptable level.


Sounds like some sort of sensor needs replacing ?????

need info on a trouble code

I have a 99 jeep wrangler and the check engine light came on i plugged in my snap on scanner and a p1492 code came out which is a sensor for the battery on the battery tray, the next thing that happen the voltmeter on the dash went from 14 volt to zero, if any of you guy know what this is about please let me know, thanks
