Hillbilly1 I have 30" BFG AT's on mine, and they scrub in tight turns if the suspension moves any at all. 31's will work, but they will scrub from time to time if your turning tight.

O_M_Jeep you just cant go wrong with Duratracs, and 31"s will look good lifted or not (unless your going to go to a 4" or 6" lift), the duratracs will make a huge difference when your off road as well as driving daily. When you do start looking at lifts, be sure to compare the lifts carefully, and while getting opinions are important, remember that people sometimes have other motives for recommending a lift, sometimes the addage that you get what you pay for is true, and sometimes a product is just expensive. Just remember that a Rolex and a Timex both do the exact same job and precisely the same way, but no one shakes a timex in someone elses face at a cocktail party.

I can give you a GREAT visual... since mine is red with 2" BB...AND 31's... AND no doors... AND no top.....AND same rims

AND.... if you are thinking of what the rims would look like in black.... Rustoleum Bedliner works GREAT!

What am I saying? GO FOR THE 31's!!!!

I work 20-25 hours a week, play sports, job shadow, have physical therapy, lift nearly every day, plus the jeep and homework, yeah it sucks being crazy busy haha. but ik what you mean, sports pretty much screw you when it comes to work, you prolly just work weekends ?

Do this. I'm in high school too, you can afford some used tires off of Craigslist! Jobs eat your time but the money sure is nice!

I have heard of duratecs, they got good reviews, I have just had good luck with BFs thats why
Please don't get 2.5" of body lift. Do yourself a service and get a 2" spacer lift and don't go higher than 1.25" for body lift.

I love my duratracs! They've got me though everything I have thrown at them so far and I can't wait to see how they do in the snow. My neighbor just put some 31x10.50x15 on his. Ill try to grab a pic tomorrow.

Anywho, you could easily sell those and make some cash. You could grab 31" tires.

I think my Yokohama Geolander ATs were $450. For some reason the price has gone up since I got them, but you can check them out here
Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S

They aren't very aggressive, but I'm keeping my jeep timid until I can do it exactly how I want the first time. I rushed things on my YJ, and it became a huge headache. The tire is also wearing really well. I wouldn't be surprised if they went 70k miles.

OP, they fit but you some jeeps will rub at full turn and offroad, it all depends on the jeep. you should be fine for DD though.
As of now i can not afford it! Im only a sophomore in high-school. They are brand new tires from the previous owner, still have lots of tread. Gonna let them run down, then when i need new one ill get some. Cannot wait for that day!

ILL_state I just wanna get something subtle, like a 2 or 4 inch lift, ill probably keep the same tires either way
09-29-2011 10:19 PM
jcmstrickers If you are eventually getting a lift then dont go get really expensive tires to fit on stock. Save the money and wait till you lift it and get bigger and better tires
09-29-2011 10:15 PM
ILL_state I'll eventually get a lift, I just need some money for it. What tires do you have on? I was thinking of getting duratecs
09-29-2011 10:15 PM
2005TJSOCAL I run them, but am saving for a lift. I have been able to get anywhere off road within reason. I have BF goodwrench and they are nice
09-29-2011 10:04 PM
jcmstrickers I run 31's stock on my 98 without any problems on and off roaf
