gixxerphil Sounds good.

Heater sounds like the blower motor resistor is out(20-30 at parts store) it's behind the glove box.
Go for a Dodge Durango steering box(bolt on) since you have to replace

Found an '02 Wrangler X for $3k - Anything to Watch Out for?

Found a guy who's done having fun with his '02 Wrangler X. It's been sitting most of this year and he's willing to part with it for $3k which seems to be a pretty good price for an '02, even with high miles on it. I can probably spend a couple grand more and find one that doesn't need work but I can fix these things myself for pretty cheap. Engines sounds and runs great. I should be picking it up this weekend. I've owned '85 CJ-7 Renegade & '71 FJ40 Landcruiser in the past and miss it.

'02 Wrangler X, I6 / 5-speed, 183k miles (highway)
Hardtop, Hitch, Winch mounted on the front.

- Steering box - seal leaking
- U-joint, front left axle
- Brake work /spongy
- Windshield cracked
- Heater fan runs on high only
- Steering stabilizer / wobbly sometimes
- Soft top
- Two surface rust spots below the door; frame and underside is clean
- Cleaning! inside & out

Wish it were a Sport with the Dana 44, but I don't plan to go larger than 32" tires. The guy I'm buying it from is the 2nd owner and has owned it since about 36k miles.

Your comments & input is much appreciated...
