JYJeep I had to add them on as they weren't included with the basic TF kit. I ended up with all 4 lowers and 2 rear uppers. The TF rep said at my lift height the front uppers were set to stock length anyway. I'll replace them if the break.

JDGROVER i planned on doing the sye and drive shaft any way but one reason i am leaning towards the RC lift is because of the adjustable control arms.

JYJeep I didn't see extended bump stops. Check threads by unlimited 04 for more info. Also at 4" you'll likely have to start drive line mods including a SYE and new rear drive shaft or tc drop. I think thats why many try 3" first and then add a 1.25" BL and 1" MML.

SirGeorgeKillian For that kind of coin, I would look at what Rusty offers. I am partial to their stuff because it has been good to me.

JYJeep I keep my 30" stock GYs on my jp for a month or so after the 3" suspension lift. My co worker said it looked great for a match box car. So perhaps 33s under 6" of lift will look funny. 6" of lift will cause tremendous additional mods not captured in the kit you linked.
Recommended is 3" and a 1.25 body lft for 33s. This will look good and you can see many links of pics with that combo. Ok I'll pull out the IMO, this combo will be tremendously capable offroad, When I move back east and adjust to the terrain there I think the only mod I'll truely need is MT tires vs the ATs I have now.

JDGROVER ok so i guess i will go with 33s because it would not be worth the money, i want to do 6 inch lift but i fear it might look stupid. the rc 4 and 6 inch lifts are $50 different, what do you think. this is the 6 Jeep TJ Wrangler Suspension Lift

No offense, Not sure why you shifted to 35s. Not trying to be a pain or poke you in the eye. If thats what you like the look of etc its all your choice. In the short time I've been in the SoCal area, I've had the chance to wheel some areas that you will never run across in the Pine Barrens and there are many more people out here driving their jeeps well on 33s then I can count. look up a book by Jim Allen and another by Christia Lee. Combined these two books will go thru the entire process and give you the info you need to make a good choice.

with beefed up axle shafts, you run the risk of the other components in your rear end breaking, like your spider gears, and ring and pinion.
with 35s, you should also beef up your steering and brakes as well.

GoldenSahara00 maybe. just remember your taking the risk. if your jeep starts hopping around on rocks, I would think twice.

JDGROVER i feel like i would get be able to get by with the d 35 and 35s if i put in chromalloy shafts in the rear. what do you think?

JYJeep Before you go to 35s consider the extra expense and what you really gain. If you aren't hard core rock crawling 33s will be OK. You can go 3" suspension lift and 1.25 BL with appropriate wheel backspacing. Actually, I haven't added the BL yet and still clear 33x10.5 BFGs. Full flex as late as this afternoon and I'm fine, don't forget bump stop extensions which came with my Tera Flex kit.

I like the adjustable front track bar but you can redrill and use the stock bar. Use a relocation bracket (many kits supplied) and stock rear track bar. Definite extended rear sway bar links and front discos. For ride don't forget to upgrade your shocks. I have Bilstien but opinions abound. Upgrade the steering stabilizer, should be bolt in for the price of the appropriate size shock.. 35-80 bucks. I have an LJ so I didn't need a SYE and new drive shaft. I'll do it later when I get a TT. I'm also going to upgrade steering components, tie rod and drag link. Plenty to think about so before you set your mind continue the research, decide what you want to accomplish and make an initial budget (triple it!) I have a D44r and D30f with 3.73 gears. runs fine on the highway in 5th and 6th (OD). I'd like to upgrade and drop in lockers, unfortunately the D30 is rady but I'd have to get a new D44 carrier $$$$ Some engineer is laughing at that twist I'm sure. So, maybe just a detriot in the front for now. rear is LSD.

GoldenSahara00 I would tend to say yes but the educated answer is no, it is a bad idea. You could get the super35 kit but if you do that you might as well get a new axle. a better option would be a ford 8.8 which if you know welding or people you can get setup for around 800.

Then again I see people everyday with a d35 and 35 tires, but I wouldnt trust it. I have a 35 with my 33s and I worry about it.

plus regearing is gona put more torque into your axles, and so youll be more capable of damaging them.

GoldenSahara00 well going to 35s your DEF gona want a regear, so factor another 1200 into your budget. so your looking at 1200 gears, 1200 wheels and tires, and 2 grand in lift. oh and a d44 isn't gona be cheap. you might be able to pick one up used but anyone who knows their salt wont sell it for less then 1500. you can get bolt in units for around 2200 give or take depending on options. so your looking at 6000+. not to mention upgraded brakes, extended brake lines, and more.

JDGROVER now thinking it over if i am going to lift it and spend that much money i want to go 35s put a d 44 in and re gear sorry for changing my mind mid way but i want to do it right.

GoldenSahara00 well you don't need much more than 4 for 33s. I would personally piece together my own kit but end up with this:
1.25 bl
3-4 inch suspension lift
TW Drive shaft, and SYE
New CAs
adjustable front and rear track bars
and a few other odds and ends that I would think of as I went along.

Lift Kit Opinions

i am going to put a lift kit on my 97 stock 5 spd 4.0 but i am not sure what to do. i know i want about 4.5 to 5 inches of lift with 33s because although i do some wheeling its not much and never rock crawling so i want to keep the dana 35 rear and save some money. what i am most concerned about is ride quality i know its a jeep so i am not expecting much but the more stable the ride the better. i would like to do the entire lift for under 1500 but could do 2000 (not counting tires/wheels). i am just looking for some opinions as to what is the best lift i can get for my money. i want to do this right because i lifted my old jeep the cheapest rout i could go and i hated it. i want quality and i am willing to spend the money. also what do you think about LA vs. SA? Sorry for asking another lift question but i searched and couldn't find anything that suited me.
