|Jeep716||May just need a adjustment. Make sure choke is fully open at operating temp. Adjust mixture screws in a half a turn and try. If no better try half a turn out. Make sure air filter is clean and plugs cap rotor wires etc are in good shape too. Cleaning a carb on a vehicle is pretty much useless. It needs to be disassembled soaked and blown out with compressed air to do any real good. Don't forget today's fuel is 10% ethanol and absorbs water very quickly. If it sits in a carbs float bowl more than a week it will do this. The water floats on top of the fuel and cannot be removed by normal driving. Seen it a thousand times. Keeps my home small engine repair shop in Business in fact! Good luck and hope you figure it out.|

Stumble at idle can i clean the carb with gumout? Or something?
1988 jeep wrangler 4.2 258 weber carb upgrade kit. I have a stumble at idle. Cleaned pcv line, changed fuel filter and air filter. still there. Can i spray carb cleaner down the carb throat? will this help? some suggest spraying the carb while running, others suggest spray and let it sit for a few minutes. what carb cleaner should i use? I have gumout. If this doesn't work do i have to take it apart to clean it? Thanks for any help!
