|Mini Me||Today I attempted to install my skyjacker 2" bb. 3 of the 4 upper shock bolts from the rear snapped off. Now I'm gonna have to drive it with no rear shocks to the local dealership on Tuesday so they could drill out the bolts. Of course nothing goes as planned What normally would have taken 2-3 hours will take days. Also, the front lower shock bolts are being a PITA. I guess this is what happens when you have an older jeep. Rust is the biggest enemy.|

Sad day indeed. When that happened to me I just bought a 1100 dollar Saturn with 30+MPG. Paid for its self in 3 months.

|ArthurTJ04||Yesterday was a sad day, I I had to get rid of the TJ in order to save money. I went from a 15 min drive to work to 1hr 10min drive. I was spending close to $450 a month in gas and it was putting a hole in my pocket. I will be back eventually we all do....|

Today I put some new speakers in the dash and the sound bar. Nothing fancy some Schosche EFX 5.25 components in the dash with an adapter that allows them to fit in place of 4x6s. Also put some pyle blue label 5.25 coaxials. Also upgraded the console sub to a pyle dual voice coil. Sounds great even for cheap speakers.

|Holton345||I do not like stickers on my jeeps, but I never toss the dang things out. Found some today and decided to improve my TJ and JK by putting them on the back of the chest. I put the tool chest on a dyno and discovered that these stickers had increased MPG by 2 and horsepower by 7. When I find that other stack of stickers I will make this red tool chest even more powerful and efficient.|

I did the ZJ front end swap. My minor vibes are gone. Because I was having them in the first place and they were from the bad TREs I also replaced my steering damper.
We will do the wheel work today and tomorrow. So U joints, ball joints and unit bearings in one step. Probably the rotors and pads, too.
Then some test driving for a day or so.
After that we will do the axle work (diffs, new Lube Lockers, and rear pinion seal).
After that has been sorted we will then ratchet-strap the tranny and pull the skid. I am hoping that there are no problems with that part. If so, we will fix them as best we can. If not, then we will move on.
The Novak cable shifter will go on first, then the SYE and driveshaft. That will be the next stopping point.
More test driving (or back the the job and life).
Then if everything seems to be okay we will cut out the dead rear shocks and clean up the mounting holes/captured nuts.
Then we can install the lift kit.
Hope I don't end up with any left over parts. I hate when that happens, heh, heh, heh...

|gnater76||Awesome list! Don't know if you want to break some of that up in case you have mystery vibes to chase down its easier to figure out what the cause may be. Anyway, make sure you set those pads according to Mr. Blaine's directions. You're gonna love the improved stopping power.|

OTC Adapter Set #7894 (Dodge/Jeep 4WD Upper and Lower Ball Joints)
The kit tool comes in a nice case, with the C frame, forcing screw, three receiving tubes, an installing adapter and a removing adapter. The Jeep kit comes with four parts to use with the tool set.
I bought them both on Amazon and got them quickly, packed pretty dang well. I paid $182.03 shipped. Took only a few days. It was like over $300 here through O'Reilly's, and NAPA was closer to $400. This was not cheap at all and I will hardly ever use it. But it is there for when I need it for our three other vehicles. And it is very good quality.
Amazon.com: OTC 7894 Ball Joint Service Adapter for Jeep/Dodge: Automotive
I have to change the ball joints in my JK and a car I am about to sell. Then we have two Hondas, one of which will need this soon enough. The newer one is not that old yet and will be fine for some time. So I will use it a few more times and probably sell it on craigslist next year. But it is nice to have for right now.
Here is all I am doing to my TJ over the next month or that I have done recently:
ZJ tie rod swap (done, and excellent!)
Timken unit bearings
Spicer axle U joints
Synergy ball joints
Centric premium rotors
Black Magic pads
Rear D44 pinion seal
Service both diffs and install Lube Lockers
Fel-Pro valve cover gasket
Novak TC shifter cable
Teraflex super short SYE
Tom Woods DC driveshaft
Remove old 4" lift with TC drop
Metalcloak 3.5" lift with double adjustable aluminum UCAs and LCAs
OME Nitrocharger shocks
Discos of some sort
It will be like my 11 year old baby is reborn! HAHAHA!!!
We just put a 2.5" AEV/Bilstein lift on the JK with some JKS discos. It is almost like a real Jeep now. ;-) Now my beat-to-crap TJ finally will get the love it deserves. I am completely stoked, too...
Good luck with your stuff, man!
