If I had a more capable rig and a little bit more recovery gear. I would do the WHOLE trail. That section where I changed my mind and said we should go back...I would hook the winch line up first and then go across. lol.

I got a video done up. Just got to upload it to YouTube.

Coyote_94YJ The fun part was getting in to where we did. Once we got there we got there...I think all of us had the same basic idea running through our heads. "I don't wanna be here any more. I want off this mountain."

BeaverJeeper man, that looks like fun!

Sweet. Thanks. I'll get a hold of you after Thanksgiving sometime. I'm heading over to the west side all next week.

Thanks for the offer but I think I'm going to get the Smittybilt 6" flares. They're fairly cheap on eBay and there's no prep/paint work, just bolt on and they're good to go. I've got 6" flares on there now...err. Well, I had 6" flares on there. LOL.

I do need a pair of the side markers/turn signal lights if anyone has some. Both of mine are destroyed.

Robert had a good excuse for not making it and he called ahead to let me know. To be honest though I would have loved for you and Jan (and everyone else for that matter) to come on the trip but Colene had to work on Sunday so I'm glad it ended up being on Saturday. I probably wouldn't have gone on Sunday. I mistakenly posted up the poll before seeing what days she had to work.

Ya, I didn't know he lost a wheel cylinder. I was there when the axle snapped. It sounded like glass breaking. Couldn't figure out what it was at first.

Mitchness 1st) No big deal.

2nd) Slightly larger deal.

3rd) A big deal (You can add "blown brake cylinder" to the list of carnage as well. :/)

4th) Very big deal

So today was just as eventful as yesterday. 12-14" of snow this time. Steve came out to help with the recovery. In an attempt at turning around Steve had his jeep up on 3 wheels on an embankment and was on the verge of rolling over and down the hill. Mitch and I had to jump on his jeep to keep it from going over. I lost another fender flare today. I'm down to one and a half flares left on my jeep. Mitch broke the passenger front axle shaft during the recovery so he had to get all the way out with 3 wheel drive. While screwing around back on the main road I was drifting around a switchback and got a bunch of traction all of the sudden which sent me forward into the inside bank. As I'm still sliding sideways I bounce off the bank and both passenger side tires came off the ground about 2ft. I came real close to rolling the jeep. I was aired down to 5psi

Ted_D How did everybody else do?
11-13-2011 01:22 AM
Coyote_94YJ Well, that was one heck of a run. Probably the most extreme trip I have ever been on. 6-8" of snow.

Me:
- completely destroyed both passenger side fender flares
- power steering is going out
- bent steering linkage

Mitch:
- Busted off one tail light
- numerous holes in soft top
- jeep is still up there

We tried like mad to get it recovered but we ran out of light and it was 2hrs of wheeling to get back to the trail head so we got the heck out of there. We're heading back up tomorrow to get it back down off the mountain.
