92 Jeep wrangler 4 cylinder Vs. 6 cylinder

I have been looking at a couple of Jeep's around the late 1900's and was wondering if there is a big difference between the two. I am not planing on doing any heavy off roading. What is the difference in gas mileage, and is one more susceptible to braking down than the other?
