Shelby427 First off, if you haven't already, check the fluid level. Also how long has the fluid been in there? is it time for a change.

Next you can check the TV cable adjustment, and it needs to be done per the manual.
If it isn't EXACTLY set it will cause all kinds of weird shifting.

Auto Jeep won't change gear..

Hi all,
I have a 2000 Wrangler 4.0 inline 6, with an auto transmission.
I'm new to the forum, and have a problem...
Whenever I am accelerating, my gears shift normal until it gets to the point where it should go into 3rd. It then revs really high, and loses power to the wheels, and THEN changes to 3rd if I continue accelerating (like on a highway). If I don't keep accelerating (like in the city where there is constant stopping), it ends up staying in 2nd gear the whole time.
It is very frustrating and wastes a lot of gas reving so high... Is there anything I can do to fix it? Has anyone else had this problem??
Thanks in advance.
Steve
