My lights don't flicker, but then will come on when I turn the ignition to the on position, but when I do to start it the just go out, motor won't even try and turn over, it's like the battery is dead but it's fine (me being a mechanic for firestone I can test it easily) starting to wonder if its the relay the power cable runs into or the ignition itself

See that's what mine does, just started the other day. I'd love to drop something bigger in, but I can't afford it right now, currently trying to save for a motorcycle so I can then save up for jeep mods all summer lol

Thanks, alot more to come. Right now I'm trying to figure out an ignition problem. Sometimes I go to start it and it won't start, let it sit for a bit and then it will fire right up, down right weird.

ClayL i know what ya men, every time i went to work on my jeep when i was doing the clutch and transmission and all that other fun stuff it would either snow or drop below 20*, it sucked! but all is good now and if i bag this job il have decent money coming in that will go to the jeep after bills are paid off
01-28-2012 09:03 PM
Planetisfull I've been stalled on my '87 for nearly a year Finally got a job that's catching me up on the bills but now time and the weather are conspiring against me! I work 2 weeks on call (100 hours a week average) and 1 week off (paid) and every time the week off comes around the weather goes to hell. Hoping that the spring time brings better weather.
01-28-2012 06:13 PM
ClayL thanks man, if i bag this more mods to come for the jeep, see if i cant find someone to help me make a custom stinger and rear bumper to begin with and then the lift and metal cloak fenders

ClayL ok so i have the jeep back together and running. didnt really get any pics while putting it back together but il get some of the finished underside. It got a new flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder, 2 new motor mounts, 4 new rancho shocks, drive shafts got cleaned, painted, balanced, and new u-joints. the transmission then got cleaned, new fluids all around, and a new transmission mount. next on the list is new battery cables because mine are causing problems and both diff fluids changed.

daddyjeep Glad to hear that you are making some progress. I have worked on my Jeep for about 20 minutes in the last two weeks. My goal of having the V8 out ot the grand cherokee before winter has kinda failed miserably. it is currently -7 outside...i think that sounds like winter and the engine is still about 6 hours of work away from being pulled out.
