sherfjeep Also JMoore95 is full of crap. No 4.0 6 is ever going to get 18 MPG. Unless all of your driving is down hill with a tail wind.

sherfjeep I can't say enough about the 2.5" pro comp spring lift. Except it may be a little high for your wife. The kit actually raised my 2 dr sport 5" at the front bumper.
But my wife is 5'2" and 63 and she has no problem.

wego4x4 I have a 2008 jku rubicon as well. You can throw 33's on and do moderate wheeling with nothing added. If you want to stuff it with no rubbing then spacers on stock rims should be good. Or a budget boost. It really depends on the type of wheeling you plan on doing.

JMoore95 I personally don't thank your gas will go done it very well may go up with 33's. I think 32's will look fine. We just lifted a tj 3 inchs and it 32's on it and it looks great.

jsmithtx I will check on the BDS lifts. There is a good thread on the death wobble. I am running stock 4.10 gears with the 3.8 liter engine. I'm getting 16 to 18 mpg on the highway now. Running 32" BFG MT's. Tires are still pretty good shape. Think they would look ok with a 2.5" lift. Probably go to 33" later. Don't see a need to go 35" with the amount of wheeling we do. Seems like the lift install is the most important thing.

JMoore95 Also I haven't researched Terra flex lifts before but when you buy a lift make sure it comes with all the smaller components to.many lifts out there only come with only the major lift components. Yes the lift your vehicle in this case your jeep, but just remember even the small parts can play a major factor. I also had a Nissan D21 I'm not sure if your familier with the vehicle but it was originally Nissan's little truck before the frontier. Being young and it being my first truck I was dieing to lift it. I didn't have the money for a full lift so instead a went to the local parts house and purchased a $30 block lift. All the lift is, is 2 blocks the size of your choice, and 4 new U-bolts. You place the blocks between the leaf spring and axle. My Nissan had an independent suspension in the front with tortion bars. Add the blocks and tighten the tortion bars to level the truck with the blocks. This was all I needed to lift the truck but in the long run it bound up my cv axles and and my rear drive shaft. Causing damage because I didn't have the smaller parts to realign the axles. I ended up having to replace them which cost me a good penny, and I only added 2 inch blocks. Again I am saying this so you can look for the difference between a good lift, or a lift that will get you by with looks and performance for a short period of time. Many professional off road stores won't even sell or put on some of these online lifts. There is an off road store right down the road from were I live that won't even deal with Ruff Country lifts because they don't give you all the necessary parts with the lift. They say that Ruff Country only sells you the components to lift it. They had a jeep come in with a ruff country lift that had all kinds of issues with proper steering radius, excessive body roll etc. So please be aware of some lifts. BDS Suspensions has excellent lifts with everything you need. You may look them up. Idk your price range but they are very professional. Also when lifting a jeep especially a wrangler be aware of what they call the death wobble. This is when a vehicle hits between 40 mph or above your steering wheel turns right to left uncontrollably. It is not caused by a bad steering stabilizer. Check all your tire rod ends, sway bar, etc. To make sure they are not badly worn. These components cause the "death wobble" not the steering stabilizer. Just so you know. I have a friend that is paralyzed from the "death wobble" he was on the interstate with a jeep wrangler and it began to death wobble causing him to roll 7 times down the road. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone.

JMoore95 Well I my self have a 1995 YJ right now. I'm running 33/12.50 on a black rock crawler wheel(Steel). I have a cold air intake on my stock inline six jeep engine, with factory gears and I'm getting about 17 or 18 mpg around town and 21 on highway. It truthfully depends on your gearing. I had a 91 Chevy Silverado on a 9 inch lift and 35's at first with factory gears I was getting about 11 or 12 mpg I replaced my gears and started getting 16 to 18. So like I said it really depends on gears. Are you running factory gears right now? And what size engine is in the jeep?

Have received numerous opinions, and many different answers. Seems everyone recommends coil spring lift. Talked to two jeep guides at Moab and both said buy Terra Flex if getting a lift. Talked to Terra Flex and they have a 2.5" coil lift I am thinking about. It wouldn't involve and driveshaft mods. I was told that mileage would drop to 10 mpg with lift by a salesman at Discount Tire. Saw an post on here were they are getting 18 and 19 mpg with 33". What have you seen mileage wise on your lifts?

JMoore95 I apologize when I said " I would lift it wheel coil springs" I ment " with coils springs". Coil spring spacers are ok but you would still be using factory springs if they haven't been replaced. If you do a coil spring lift you will get new springs that are coated and are made out of better material. Meaning they handle flexing and any other off road abuse they may encounter a little better then factory springs. I hope this info helps you. JMoore95 Wheel spaces will only push your tires out. This truthful can be pointless on many vehicles. A wheel space was generally designed to move your tire out so you don't have a tire contact with the coil springs or leaf springs, or any other other component of the inner suspension. I myself thought wheel spacers were a cheap and easy way to fit a larger tire. But in the long run I only realized that it can just move were your tire contacts your vehicle outward depending on your offset. Not enough can hurt you along with to much. Your best best bet would be to lift your jeep wheel coil springs In my opinion. It wheel raise your jeep, and give you more clearance for larger tires without really affecting you tire contact points. If your not having a tire contact problem now, I would just lift it some. They make a 2 inch lift for your jeep that doesn't require many or any mods to compensate for the lift.

Need information on lift kits

I have a 2008 JK that is my wifes daily driver. It's a Rubicon, and I think stock tires are 32". I've been researching a modest lift kit. I have gotten many different opinions. Coil spring or spacers on lift? I have been told wheel spacers are a bad idea. What is everyones experience. Have to keep it simple it's her jeep.
