Vroooom No state requires doors.
Most states require a minimum of two rear-view mirrors.
Laziest way to know whats required: ask the tech next time you get your vehicle inspected. He should have a copy of the motor vehicle code, required equipment section.

Or you can google your state requirements.

Or you can ask in the forum.

Walkingstick I have never been pulled over for no doors and no mirrors. Hell, I even drive with my windshield folded down too.
And I live in an area that is utterly filled with State Troopers, and Cops.

DirtyRob I drive mine without doos sometimes, and feel like I need to install a small mirror from driving around town and changing lanes, but never got any tickets. Most law enforcement have common sense around here, but they sure look at me funny on the XJ with no doors

I drive mine without mirrors, but last August my wife drove it with top off and doors. About 10 miles out she called and got pulled for no side mirrors. I thought it was funny, no ticket just a warning, guess he want to check her out. It was a trooper. It has mirrors now.

wig-wag My brother-in-law is a trooper and said he would never pull anyone for no doors/mirrors.

Rockafella drive doorless all the time when weather permits and i have a review and a neck that works better than peyton manning's... (meaning I just turn my head and look when I want to change lanes, u know officer, it's not hard to see beside me when there's NO DOORS)

mikes05unlimited you do need a rear view and at least a driver side mirror. I make sure I at least have it IN my Jeep when the doors are off. I talked to a group of local cops and they said that none of them would pull a Jeep over for no mirrors but if I got pulled for something else and didn't have mirrors they would have to ticket me for it. They said the state troopers are different though and may pull me just for the mirrors

Comac90 I 'think' NC law requires a rearview mirror and a driver-side mirror. AFAIK, as long as you have those in place, you're all good.

I've never been pulled with that setup. But, as was said - YMMV.

Riccochet AFAIK you can. I've done it plenty and never had a problem. In fact I didn't have mirrors. YMMV
