With 3" of suspension lift you definitely want one; contrary to popular belief there aren't rules on what amount of lift requires an SYE. Get rid of that weak slip yoke while you can.
I have an SYE from Advance Adapters that I've been happy with, and my Tom Woods DS has been great. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably get an SYE from JB Conversions. Their website has enough info that explains why. I'd probably go with their SS SYE so that I could have a little longer DS and get things at a better angle down there.

|IN SB||Thanks for everything guys. Ive herd you need the sye with over a 2' lift and also herd 4' is the min, but i think its a good investment regardless. How essential are control arms dont think ill have too much extra cash?|

|Feed_That_Jones||My 06 only has a 2"BB which i believe is really like 1.75", and i have vibes at highway speed. From what i've gathered models with a D44 rear seem to have more problems with lift/vibes. My trans is going out, so that could be the reason i have vibes. I plan to order my SYE and CV shaft friday. Plan on making my own control arms to save some money.|

|3025826||I got the advance adapters kit with Tom woods drive shaft for 500 shipped and have been running it since last summer my jeep has no vibes at all. Still haven't gotten the rear upper adjustable bc my angle is barely enough to justify (already has different that stock) I would highly recommend this kit, spend a little more money and get the highest quality! Only thing left to do is upgrade with some rancho shocks to get the girl ridin like a dream|

|oIIIIIIo||I just did mine last week, you do not need the front drive shaft. You will need a rear cv drive shaft. I also suggest that you have all your tools together before starting the job. Especially snap ring pliers and torque wrench that is capable of 150ft/lbs. Good luck|

|neverfastenough1||I don't think its necessary to have one for 3 inches, but if you got the cash might as well do it right. You will have to get rid of the transfer case drop. You will also need to get some adjustable control arms. I was looking at Tatton. They have a reasonably priced sye/shaft combo. The popular one on the site is Tom Woods. They both have good reputations and feedback.|

|nastyrider17||I have the Advance Adapters SYE kit. Install was very straightforward and exactly as they show on their youtube video. I left the case in the jeep though and it probably saved a hour of work or so. The front output stays the same so front driveshaft stay the same. The rear you need a new rear driveshaft anyways, Tom woods makes good ones.|

getting a sye kit need advice
hey ive been doing some research and i have decided being as i just got my tax returns i think its time to get rid of the vibes while driving, and i herd a sye is an essential. I have a 3' suppension lift and i have herd it is pretty much required to get one, any suggestions on kits to get? and do i need to get a front and rear driveshaft kit or just a rear?
thanks any advice would help im still a nooby.
