MCG I have the same exactly noise, each time I let the cloth out or when I push the gas in 1st o 2nd gear. Its like the whole Engine /Transmission its loose or something like that.
When I'm in idle sounds like a bad cat converter and the same when I turn of the engine.
Yes my shaft seems to be loose even when my Jeep its parked in1st gear.

Popping noise when i let the clutch out.

I can also hear it when I go slow over holes. I checked the u joints , they seem tight by moving with my hand.I also grabbed the rear driveshaft and moved it and the transmission moves. Is there suppost to be a mount for the transmission. Any ideas.
