olbaid_83 well the jeep is sold..... i ran out of money and i was told by the last shop it was in that pretty much every gasket on it was leaking (exhaust manifold, intake, around the carb, etc) $800 to fix it and i was flat out of money....on a good note it brought in $10000. that makes me happy so now im going to buy a new truck and another jeep....ill let you guys know what i find but till then
03-27-2012 08:43 PM
olbaid_83 oh and i heard back from the tranny clutch and tcase going in. idiot po didnt bother making sure the tcase fit the tranny he put in
03-27-2012 08:42 PM
olbaid_83 im not real sure why i would need that....ive got rings for an attach point and if there was no one there i could wench myself out. tell me the use for it....i claim ignorance on this one...

busemans something to consider picking up... a front receiver mount. i had one and then i got a winch and let me tell you. the front hitch was way more useful then the winch and its mounting. i am going to have to get a bumper that has a front hitch and a winch mount now.
03-27-2012 06:18 PM
ninfivfo Yep that is not there and was not when I unpacked it as I still have all of the boxes/packing. Emailed them to see about getting one, Thanks! I got most of the wiggle out with the bump stop but still was not happy with it as it does not feel solid to me.
03-27-2012 06:12 PM
olbaid_83 i think mine was black and it was already on it when i got it. its more or less just a grease sleeve
03-27-2012 06:07 PM
ninfivfo That would be it, what color is it? I have thought and looked for it but did not find it. Ill go look again in the packing.
03-27-2012 05:44 PM
olbaid_83 mine fit perfect there should be a sleeve on the post... is that missing?

ninfivfo I have one plate between the bumper and jeep, seems pretty solid that way as the hitch hits so I need at least one. My problem is that the hinge for the carrier is crazy loose, it does not tighten around the hinge. Bolts are tight as they go and there is still like a 1/16th of an inch or so, not to sure if I forgot something during the install.
03-27-2012 04:40 PM
olbaid_83 i do not have any up close but i can tell you the first time i installed it i put both steel plates between the bumper and cross member and i did have a lot of wiggle. when i re-installed it i took both plates out from between the bumper and put one on the back side of the crossmember and now its really tight. sometimes pretty difficult to close
03-27-2012 04:32 PM
ninfivfo Haha Ya I have not logged on in forever just come to read so I just seen it, I will pm you about them. Not to sure if I am retarded of what but I have the same rear tire carrier and mine has a decent amount of wiggle in it even with the bump stop. Do you have any pics of yours up close?
03-27-2012 02:37 PM
off to the tranny shop to have the clutch and tranny figured out....waiting to hear back now
03-15-2012 12:10 AM
olbaid_83 i also finally painted the windshield frame.
03-15-2012 12:09 AM
olbaid_83 just coming back to check on this and ninfivfo the carrier is solid. i have my 33x12.5 on there and wouldnt think twice about hitting a pothole on a crowded highway at 60. also not sure if you ever got my pm but i can send you those headlights if you want them. i managed to get reasonable shipping on them.

95YamJam Looks Great!
03-08-2012 06:21 PM
ninfivfo Do you have any wiggle in that rear bumper tire carrier or is it solid?
03-05-2012 03:19 AM

Carlton80 I would like to do some more cosmetic things for my jeep with the tax return, but replacing all the control arms, the rear track bar, and the engine must come first. After all that I need to replace the AC compressor, then I can start on the lights and bumpers. All of that should add up to a little over 2700$

olbaid_83 thanks trying to find some straps to go on the rear bars to fix the broken zippers. thinking just some 1" velcro straps to go around and hold them and find some long enough that if i wanted to attach something to them i could. only problem is i dont know where to find what im looking for.

drew11 I did the same thing. My black projector lights were junk too. I liked the look so much that I gutted the light and went with the pricey 9003 HO 100 watt bulbs and that woke up the light. I dealt with the same guy. There are a lot of good vendors on ebay, but he is not one of them. I like the tactical look. Keep up the good work.

olbaid_83 i dont know what else to do to it for now. im working on doing some electrical upgrades like led dash gauge lights and working on fixing the little bugs with it that have come out (ac blower motor, clutch leak, head cover leak, etc) im open to ideas though....this is my toy but its a mostly street toy so doing things that arent street friendly are out. im all ears!!!

1989JEEPYJ Awesome thanks for the heads up

olbaid_83 yeah they sucked. i figured the only way they would work is with HID bulbs. just went with silverstar replacements. they are bright enough for city driving. as far as the tail lights i got them on ebay from a vendor by the name of neondials. i do not recomend going through this guy for them. he was the biggest jerk and the most unproffessional person i have ever dealt with. i asked about mounting hardware and a wire diagram for his tail lights and he reported me to ebay for asking for additional parts after the auction was done. he was mad that i left him neutral feedback due to his lack of professionalism. id be more than happy to post the conversation between the two of us but to make it short i dont recommend going through him. there are many other vendors with the same product.

Xpress I did a little digging and researching on those projector lenses (AKA asking HID Planets opinion) and as it turns out they're junk. All they are is regular H4 reflector lights with a "projector" lens stuck to the front of it, and the included H4 bulbs are junk.

A real projector retrofit would put out 2x a much light as our sealed beam headlights, with H4 halogens.
