LOL - this takes me back to my first Jeep, a 1959 Willy's Station Waggon. As a 16 year old without much money, when my clutch went out I couldn't afford to replace it right away. I started parking places that I could start out in gear and keep rolling. The tricky part was changing gears. With it being only a 3-speed, it just took a little while to guage the speed/RPM to go to 2nd and then to 3rd. Coming to a stop, I'd just yank it to neutral and coast in.
Ah, those were the days.

Depending on the model year TJ, the clutch interlock is bypassed by either inserting a fuse into a fuse holder or moving a cable connector located above the driver's side footwell.
How to do this, inserting fuse or moving the cable connector, is explained in the Owners Manual.

In neutral without a clutch can be done by a 20A fuse in #20 fuse spot behind the glovebox. You can't start any manual in gear with out tearing things up. With the fuse trick you can start it in gear, but your not doing anything good by it. In gear that starter is going to engage the whole drivetrain, the jeep will lurch forward and after a few times starter teeth or flywheel teeth are going to suffer.
By doing be fuse you can have it in neutral and start it, like by reaching in and turning the key, vs. Climbing in and pressing the clutch

|RockHound||If you look at your clutch pedal assembly you will see the safety switch with two wires. You can cut them and splice together to bypass having to use the clutch to start.|
