well to each his own. ive never had a problem going directly to battery, but just for fun, ive also bought cig. lighter adapters for my radios, just to see... and i havent had a problem with those either.
personally i dont like any more wires that i need, and taking up the cig. lighter is just something else in the way. but like i said, to each his own. both have worked fine for me!

|iamagolfspaz||Thats good to hear Skeeter. The main reason i wanted the cigarette lighter plug was to be able to transfer the CB to different vehicles.|

When I was slip seating trucks I had a cheapo Midland set up with a cig lighter plug. I only got electrical interference in one truck and that was due to a bad computer display.
The need to run power direct to the battery is an old wives tale.

just curious, why do you want it powered from the cig lighter?
hard wire it strait to the battery or maybe even an aux. fuse and be done with it.

Does anyone use or recommend the Uniden Pro that plugs into the lighter socket for power? Or is it better to wire it to another source for power.
