Hammond_Egger I have a 2005 on my 2001. No need to worry about the vents, the only time you will notice is when you have the heat/blower up high..you will get a whistling noise. Just crack the window a tad..problem solved.

As far as the wiring is concerned...use the search feature, you will find the answer. If not, I can send you what you need from my computer at home (I am at work right now).

BeerMan OH, and mine didn't originally have a hard top so I had no wiring to compare it to...

BeerMan I have an 01 Sahara with a hard top from a newer TJ (no vents). Works fine. Never had my back glass pop up or anything...yet I have my tub lined and don't have carpet etc...

06GoldenEagle Jeep is hardly airtight so if anything his 97 may pop the back window open now and then if the windows are closed when he shuts the doors. I doubt this though

"The other way around" is not the same concept. Early top on late Jeep has two vents. Late top on early Jeep has no vents.

wwch99tj It will work the difference is you won't have a vent to relieve the pressure when you close your doors
97-02 vents behind side window
03-up moved vent to tailgate
I don't know about the plug I don't have a connection in my jeep

06GoldenEagle It fits fine, the connection at the back for the defrost and wiper is different. 03 has the 6pin plug, 97 has a 12pin plug. You can swap to the newer plug as long as u can get one and then put the correct 6 wires from that 12pin plug into the correct locations on the newer plug

LilYeller Sorry to hear about things like this, why cant people just leave other peoples stuff alone? As for the top, if the top is for a TJ and not for an LJ (long wheel base) then it will fit. Cant attest to the wiring but it will certaintly fit.

Hard top question 2003 on a 1997

I have a 1997 Jeep TJ..with hard top. It was recently vandalized and all the windows were smashed...including the hard top.

I have someone who has a 2003 hard top for sale, it may be cheaper then having the windows replaced....

Will it fit?

I have found things like NO, Yes....Yes but the wiring connection is different, and there is no vents and mine has them. I hear they have connection converters for the tops too.

I'm not sure which route to go.
If there is connection converters where would I find them.

Thanks
