The shop in my area is staffed w/ some pretty cool people, they don't mind poking their head under & giving an opinion for free. Maybe I'm lucky, but the Jeep/4X4 community around here is pretty tight and constantly support one another w/ advice & skills. Many local boards have forums for listing positive reviews of suppliers/shops. You might be surprised.
Of course, it helps if you show up at quitting time on Friday w/ a cold 6 pack or two....

|bigskycountry0329||I did think that maybe the shaft is out of balance. I will have the shop that made it ensure that it is balanced correctly. I would dimiss the the yoke bearings since they did not vibrate before the the upgrade, although they could have gone out with the excessive vibes when the pinion angle was off. I also have new U joints installed on the shaft. I have been trying to avoid the shop but that may be what I am stuck with doing.|

|Ibuildembig||If you dont want to lower the case, you can cut and roll your rearend. This one of the reasons I hate CV shafts....they are picky, expensive, and not as strong. Personally lowering the case doesnt bother me, if one inch hangs you up....your probably where you dont need to be in the first place|

|Beachcruiser||One of the reasons to install an SYE/DC shaft is to NOT have to drop your TC/skid plate. I'd think you could eliminate the vibration w/ adjustment of the pinion angle...unless something is jacked up w/ the shaft or yoke bearings. Might want to get a professional shop to give you their opinion.|

What lift do I have?
Despite looking dumb I will ask anyways. I am not ceritan of how much lift I have. What is the best way to find out how high my suspension lift is?
The reason I am concerned is because I have bad drive shaft vibrations on the rear drive shaft. I installed an AX-15 with SYE (bye bye peaugot). I had a custom drive shaft made. I know the double cardon requires a zero degree angle between the drive shaft and pinion. I seperatly installed 2.5 degree spring perch shims and then 4 degree shims. The 2.5 degree shims helped more than the 4 degree shims. The 2.5 degree shims bring the angle to just about zero.
Should I install some washers on the skid plate to lower the TC? Oh yeah, I installed an advance adapter mount plate for the peaugot to AX15 upgrade, which raised the TC about 1/2 inch.
Should I worry about how high my lift is (bought it with the lift), in relation to the driveshaft vibes?
