Kevbz I know there is three screws. Two close to the steering wheel at 5 and 7 o'clock, one way in back at 6 o'clock. If you have them all out you need to take the gauge cluster trim off also.

If all that is off and clear and the two clam shells are separated, the bottom should fall off and the top one is kinda stuck there. There a support on it that gets hung up. I rotated mine counter clockwise and after some major tetris style jocking, it rotated out.

Newbie and I need help...2006 Wrangler TJ

Hello Guys,

I'm new to the Forum and need help replacing an ignition switch. I can't seem to get the trim off. I have the key/lock cylinder out and part of the trim loose, but there is still something holding it on. The part of the trim that is right behind the steering wheel won't budge...is there a trick to getting it loose? All suggestions will be appreciated. I'm not a mechanic so please give detailed steps...thanks.
