Moody715 I rebuilt mine (2002 TJ 4.0L 5 speed manual) (New Clutch) and put it in myself with help from my uncle for around $2400. It helps to have an uncle or friend who can help you do it yourself and save some $$$. Its not too hard just lots of man hours and bolts to put back in the right spot. It runs better than ever now.

dcmtex I just had an ATK installed in my 2001 TJ. A "friend" mechanic installed it for me. Figure on about $3800 installed unless you have a "firend" or can do it yourself. Warranty is 3 years and 100k miles. Email me if you need more info...

Phobos Yes, most come with decent warranties on rebuilt motors. That is if a certified place installs it.

Anyone have any idea around how much a new engine would cost for a 1997 jeep wrangler tj 4.0 sport 5 speed MANUAL?
