lets see.. a rubi or a x.. a rubi's got a d44s with a factory locker.. just to drop this under the x is going to cost you more than that.. i got a stock d44 out of a 01 sport and paid 1k including shipping.. to get the axles new you'd be looking at 2k per axle
my girl got an 05 x with 4'' lift, new f&r bumpers, and 35'' bfg mts.. it had 19,000 miles on it and she paid 19k for it..
id pick the rubi over hers ne day..

|JCS05Rubi||That Rubi is a little steep, but not out of the ballpark. Its all about where you live. 2005-2006 Rubicons with ~35,000 miles still list for 21-23k out here. I wouldn't even consider selling mine for less than 17,500. Granted thats a 2003, but you won't have to deal with the POS 6 speed tranny, and it has low miles. If you like the rubi, grab it. If you like the JK, grab that. They are 2 different Jeeps. One is meant to climb mountains, one is meant to trail ride, and climb small mountains...comfortably...|

Go with the Rubicon you wont regret it!!! Making those upgrades alone would cost you a fortune! D44 front and rear Sway bar disconnect, Locking Diffs. 4:1 Low range and 4.11 Gearing. Great platform to start with.
As for the new JK 3.8L mercedes engine will cost you...Mercedes sucks, ask a mercedes owner how often their vehicle is in the shop. Push on the JK grill made of plastic not metal. All after market upgrades will also cost you a small fortune compared to 03. Dont do it!!! Stick with the i6 and what has been proven to work.

Yeah It's high.
You might get JK for that price. not loaded as a Rubi but a newer jeep.

|Scout||I think the 03 Rubi is a little on the high side. Wholesale should be around $ 11 - $ 12k and retail should be around $ 15k. The Rubi would be a great buy if you could get them down around $ 14k.|

2003 Wrangler Rub VS 2008 Wranger X?
Hi all! I am in the market for a new/used jeep. A dealer nearby has an 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 21,000 miles with practically new tires. heres the link http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...cardist=11They want close to 18,000$ for it but i wouldn't have to buy tires or a lift for it like i would with another one...now supposdly another dealer nearby would sell me a brand new 08 jeep wrangler X for alittle over 18k$ ..not sure how true that deal is...now the 03 I'm sure i could haggle them to make the price lower but i wouldn't pay a penny over $14,500 for it just because i purchased an 05' jeep wrangler for $15 a while ago. What do you guys think? Now i drove an 08 jeep last night..i think it might be a little "too" big for me, but the guy told me i could take it out for a couple hrs to see if i could get used to it. For those of you who have a new 07 or 08 jeep how do you like it and also what would you guys want to pay for that 03 or how low do u think the dealer should be able to go?
