If you can afford the Rubicon, get the Rubicon. If you want to go big, it's already got a decent starting platform to go big.

Hummmm sounds awesome. There was a great write up in a mag called to tunicle not. They bought two jeeps. A rubi and a stock one . The invested the same amount of money in the stock one that made the difference in price for the rubi and they ended up with a lot more jeep. However doing mods and crap like that sometimes is a pita and things go wrong. My personal opinion judging on why you taken the bullet I'd buy whatever jeep tickled my bones . I love the rubicons but I drive a 1990 Yj that's I heavily modified myself with blood and tears.
So go buy a rubicon you won't regret it.

Livin' the dream: Buying 1st Jeep!
So I am going big and I want to do it right.
My dad recently died of lung cancer
He always lived big and I decided I am done waiting for things to be "right" so I am taking the Jeep plunge to put a little bright spot in a, thus far, awful 2012!
So - I have a guy at a local dealer who is ready to pull the trigger on a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. He say there is NO way to get the light-blue chill color as Jeep won't release any more. Is that true? Also, I have been pretty sold on the Rubicon because I love the beefed up look - but would the Sahara be a better bet for 90% city use and 10% camping and recreation?
Pretty excited to realize my lifelong obsession with Wranglers!
