Moroney167 Well after pricing all I could out I originally planned Clayton skid plates. With body lift MML and skids was 1019 or something. With UCF I did base setup then for the best they have. Going all out with aluminum and all was 1045 or so shipped. So I said do it.

Got full skids engine and trans case all 1/4" ALUMINUM the highest skid they make. 1" body lift. 1" MML. And went an treated myself to their aluminum gas tank skid to tuck the tank up a little too.

KBR97 Thicker skid = more protection.
As long as the $ difference is reasonable, might as well get it.

How thick of a skid plate 3/16 or 1/4

Bout to order up some high clearance skids from under cover fab. They have 3/16 which I know is thick and solid, and 1/4". Do I really need it? I do not plan to actually hit it tht much nor on a daily basis. Just for easy of mind on the one trail a month I may hit. For the price it's not much for 1/4 though. I now aluminum is everyone's suggestion but I can't weld aluminum so I rather steel. I also want to do a gas skid too with the body lift I'll be doing anyway. Any suggestions. I just can't see the big help of all aluminum with the price and all.
