Jerry Bransford A K&N just lets in more fine dust, which is a problem if you wheel in the dusty conditions of the deserts surrounding SD. I'd just try a different/better (than Fram) filter like AC-Delco and see if it fits properly.

Air Filter Replacement

I have a new/old '97 4 banger TJ and need to replace the air filter. It has a oil based one now, but the Fram replacement (not oil) just rattled around in the filter box. I thought it should fit snugly. So I took it back to the 'all knowing' parts store, but they had no clue. Help Please. Is a paper replacement OK? Should it rattle around? or should I upgrade to a K&N? Does the K&N help perf? I've heard mixed opinions.
Thanks all.
