Doc S. You should have 3 bolts showing below your skid plate. 2 secure the transfer case. The third, toward the driver's side,is the torque arm. It stabilizes the tranny when it's under load. FSM recommends tranny mounting nuts to 30-50ftlbs. Torque arm nut to 20-35ftlbs. Hope this helps ya.

wannabe the knocking sounds like a busted mount. either motor or tranny/transfer.
as far as the speedo..........? check your connections?

knocking noise

I have a 95 yj and this is my first summer on the trails with this jeep. I had to replace the transfer case a few days ago, and since we did this. when i am "dogging" it in 1st on the trails, the shifter goes back and forth from the left to right. As it does this theres a loud kncoking noise. Also the Speedo and oddometer haven't worked since we replace it. Any advice would be greatlly appreciated
