div4gold You can take the motor out and take it apart and then take it to a shop and have it bored, also have the head and valve work done at a shop along with checking out the crankshaft and cam. The rest of it you can do. Putting it back together with new pistons and rings and gasket set. probably a good idea would be to put in a new clutch and throwout bearing at the same time. A shop manual would be a good idea also.

Help on a rebuild

I have an '88 2.5L and it's on it's last leg. I want to do a rebuild because i love the motor but it's just got some wear. I want to do it myself but i want to know everything i can before i jump in and park it for awhile. Really, i need a place to start. I'm looking for information and/or tips for the rebuild. If anyone has any links and/or advice i'm open to suggestions.

Thanks
