jeeptester Adapt a line to a extinguisher have a pull pop off valve type control and a tip on the end of the line to disperse the contents under the hood. Advantage is fire is extinguished before it gets out of hand, and I admit the odds are low but if you were trapped in a inverted Jeep with fuel or trans oil leaking onto a header and you have a valve to pull that might save your life I dont think thats useless, IMO, I have a hand held myself but if your trapped and the fire is in the engine bay it does you no good.
Oh and I get he 2012 JK reference lol

But seriously any ideas on construction of such a system?

nick50471 My five pounder mounted in front of the drivers seat works well. Don't see a need for a suppression system unless I owned a 2012.

freeskier I think you trying to come up with a ridiculously complex and useless system.

Fire Suppression Ideas, DYI

How about two normal extinguishers one plumbed to engine bay one to trans area, a activation lever and use your nose for detection. A halon type would be bad I guess as humans need 02 and halon displaces it I think.

Any ideas?
