I had a few of mine go as well. I think its from driving 45mph down bumpy dirt roads, and the body lift beat the mounts until they cracked. I had some steel laying around and drilled and rewelded everything. Havn't had a problem since, but I don't Baha it anymore.

|former USMC||Depends on how many times you want to do this. The frame and body seperate real easily. I would do it right... once and never look back. Anything else is just a waste of time and money.|

I just finished up rebuilding my 94 yj. One of the things I did was replace all the body mounts. I made mine. I used 1/8" steal plate drilled a hole big enough to fit the bolt through and the welded a nut to back side. Then carefully cut out enough of the body to fit the new body mount flush and welded her up. make sure you remove your fuel tank. It cost almost nothing I had most of the steal kicking around and the grade 8 7/16" and 1/2" nuts where cheap. after I was done I painted everything up and it looks good,and extremely strong. While I was at it I did a similar thing with 1/4" inch x 2" flat steal, welded to the frame for the crossmember. stengthen's the hell out of the frame and makes it alot easier to remove the crossmember. My wrangler was a southern jeep that only saw one vermont winter last year,It will never see another vermont as long as I own it. Salt is good on chips, but not on jeep's.

body mount replacement
ok so my jeeps 6 of the 8 body mounts r shot (you can see them cracked through the floor) and the front ones r starting to crack through, i found steel plates (front and rear) from Quadratech that can be welded over the old floors. will this suffice or should i save my money and buy a whole new body. its an 88 jeep Sahara. i want to start off roading asap
