Some things that need to be considered when doing an engine swap (crossbreeding) in a jeep. (1) Will the motor mounts work or do I have to weld in some custom units? (2) Will the tranny cross member work with the desired tranny? If not, who can build me a new one? (3) Does anybody make an adapter that will work with my desired tranny/ transfercase combo?
Engine swaps can become costly when you are not using a setup that is, or was, a factory application.

I have a 79 CJ-7 which I blew the engine in. My nieghbor has a 74 dodge with a 318 and allison automatic tranny in it. Does anybody know how hard it would be to swap in the engine and tranny from the dodge. .
