Do you have a suspension lift installed? If so, and if it's tall enough and you're still using the OE driveshaft, that is often the reason for a bent t-case output shaft. The too-short-for-the-lift-height driveshaft nearly pulls off the splined output shaft when the suspension is fully flexed but it doesn't pull off all the way, cocks slightly, then jams and bends the output shaft as the suspension tries to push the driveshaft back down onto the t-case output shaft.
So if you do have a suspension lift and it's tall enough, it'd be a good idea to install a SYE kit and longer CV driveshaft to prevent this from happening again.

Why not just replace the broken component?
An SYE and custom shaft are a nice to have (if you really need them). Question here is, did you need it before you toasted the last one? If it was OK before, why spend all the extra cash?

bent my tailshaft
OK so I took my jeep wheeling this weekend and while paying a little less attention than I should, my front tires dropped into a ditch. it wasn't wide but was quite deep. I threw it in reverse to get out and thought nothing of. While headed home I noticed major vibes. They start around 20mph and get worse from there. My mechanic looked at it and used the alignment rack to show me just how much it moves (alot). My question is will installing a full spline replacement SYE cure the problem? (I mean I might as well, right?) Also do I have to get the adjustable control arms right away, or can I put them in and correct the pinion angle a week or so later?
