Mr. Fish Tip: Place the panels in the bag with the outside (top) faces against the black divider (outside to outside). This avoids the problem of having the latches hang up on each other when inserting the second panel.

And I tend to lay the bag down on the floor with the cutout bending around the subwoofer. They obscure too much of the already precious rear view when strapped to the rear seat.

Nice to know there's not a huge difference in feel between the unlimited and standard. I will indeed test drive both, for sure.

That was one cool video, why didn't Jeep put that on my cd that came with my Jeep. Much easier than the lame direction. Thanks

-The Unlimited weighs 4075 pounds, and the 2-door weighs 3760 pounds, so the Unlimited is 315 pounds more (like always driving around with an NFL defensive tackle in your passenger seat!)

panthermark You can take the freedom panels out at any time. You don't need to bring along any special tools.

2- door vs 4 door....you might as well ask about a stick vs an auto...
Get what best fits your life style.

Engine and weight? Best answer...give them a test drive.

Questions about freedom panels and standard versus unlimited

Hi,

I am eyeing the 2012 Jeeps with interest but I have a couple of questions. I currently drive a 2006 2-door hardtop.

What can you tell me about the freedom panels? Do they just pop out? Could I be out somewhere and decide to remove them, or do I need tools?

Should I consider an Unlimited? I like the idea of the increased cargo area, but how much of a weight penalty would I pay? Given the same engine in each (I assume), how much less sprightly would the Unlimited feel than the short version? How much difference should I expect in the new engines versus the one I have now?
