I did pretty much the same thing but I used bicycle mirrors for mine ($4.99 ea ). Looks OK and works well.

|Jtoast||Same issue. I just stuck a Tow Mirror vertically to the side of my Jeep so the police don't get upset and use a set of small round mirrors stuck to my left and right AC vent to actually see what's around me.|

FYI: '12 door removal w/electric mirrors
I asked the question here a while ago about removing electric door mirrors and got no answers. I finally got around to seeing what was involved in removing my electric/heated mirrors for relocation when I remove my doors.
Bad news. The wire that runs up into the mirror has no coupler that I could see. This means you can't simply remove the mirrors and bolt them to a relocation bracket (or tube door, or half door, etc). Since I hate doing electrical work, fabricating a coupler isn't in the picture, so I just ordered some replacement mirrors and will use them when the doors are off.
If anyone has a different solution, please share. Its too late for me, but someone else could benefit.
