|jkaufman_95||I'm pretty sure you can't do it, sorry. But euro spec doesn't meet us dot and EPA 07 standards... So I don't think it would be imported or pass inspection if your state has it|

Getting it registered would be a bureaucratic nightmare. If it could be done at all.

Texas sends request for European Jeep parts assistance
I have a US spec 2010 JK. I've turned over every stone I can think of stateside trying to find a way to buy the same 2.8L VM that European models have as an option from the factory.
I could go with the 2.8 CDR that was available in the Liberty, but that would require custom wiring harness and computer work and even then its questionable as to whether or not everything will work properly.
So I've decided that it has to be a Euro motor specifically for the Wrangler. Installation will be much easier and all accessories and gauges will work properly.
Finding one of those engines has turned into a much more difficult task than I anticipated.
That's why I come to you. I can't stand this minivan motor any longer. It's gutless and gets worse fuel mileage than my 3/4 ton GMC Duramax.
I love everything else about my Jeep.
The other option is a Mopar Hemi crate motor. But I don't really want a gasoline engine, for various reasons.
Any leads on someone I could talk to about shipping me a complete 2.8L for the Wrangler would be greatly appreciated.
