DocRooster89 Oil level is fine. One thing you have to love about Jeeps, they always give you another project! I guess I'll be trying to replace that pinion seal next weekend!

4Jeepn yes, you can drive it, you will need a new seal of course. its not a bad do it yourself project, just give your self plenty of time to complete it. You can check the level of the fluid by removing diff fill bolt, the level of oil should be just below the hole.

Front Differential Leak

So today after spending about 4 hours putting on a new skyjacker steering damper, I was turning the front tires right and left to check for adequate travel length, and I got a loud SQUISHING sound, like a sponge being wrung out, and a small amount (maybe 50mL) of oil leaking from the where the driveshaft enters the front differential. Im thinking pinion oil seal leak, but my real question is this: is it safe to drive, and can i fix it fairly easily on my own?

Thanks guys!
