1500 isn't bad. I think we put my buddies together for about 800 bucks with the 8.8, brackets, etc.... but we did all of the welding and setup on it ourselves.

ChilliRed I do not trust my welds for suspension parts but i know i can bolt one up thats got the brackets... there is one on ok4wd for about 1500 maybe i can work em down a lil on it. How much can i get for the 35 do u think? What about things like a TT or engine skid are they not as important rite off?

1BLKJP Based on what you said about your rig, I would put an 8.8 in there and not worry about it.

Of course can you weld the brackets on yourself? That might be the only reason to go with a D44 instead. But with that amount of money that's what I would do. Then turn around and sell your 35 for some dollars and then buy more stuff for the jeep.

Here is exactly what i have
1998 TJ 4.0L with stock 30/35, 3.73s, 4in superlift short arm lift, kc's-windshield, fogs-arb front bumper, lod rear tire carrier , highlift, full spare, cobra mic, sliders, grab handles (for mom), 33 Pjs, MT rims, peeling floor liner, rad skid, kilby steerin skid, ome shocks, rock it rear dif skid, warn front diff skid, warn flares, besttop halfdoors, removable mirrors, speakers and headunit, kn intake, flex a lite elec fan, slip yoke elim, cv driveshaft, garmin gps, safety kit... Pretty much all else is stock Thanks!
that doesn't leave much left! lol
good point made by khenderson...long arms make it a whole lot more stable. especially on rocks. but i would prolly go the axle route before longarms. with the new axle you could get new lower gears which would be great along with not having to worry about it offroad...but then again, i would just run it till it busts! no need to get rid of it now when its good. break it!

khenderson if it were me, i'd be looking into a new rear axle and beefing up the front. whether it be a D44, or 8.8, or 9''.
or maybe upgrade to long arms.

Mods with $1200?

Alrite heres the deal after paying off the jeep I have some money left for mods, I thought it would be fun to hear about the decisions you would make seeing as you have made the mistakes i am trying to avoid.

About 1200 to work with, give or take a little...
