Jerry Bransford The misfiring is due to not all of the injectors getting fuel evenly at first after the pump has begun refilling the fuel rail. Replacing the fuel pressure regulator should take care of both that and the slow start.

Sammy91683 I don't think the problem is with holding the pressure. I think it's with initially creating it. The jeep starts right up if I turn it off and then right back on.

Gunner Sounds like your system is not holding pressure. If you shut it off and then restart it right up does it start normal. Sorry still learning the Jeep. If you shut it off and hit the schrader valve when covered with a rag to check for pressure and there is none then I would be looking at a leaking injector or a drain back issue. That is assuming Jeeps hold head pressure. I believe my 2.5 does. It just lights right up with out having to wait for the pump to cycle. Maybe a guru will pop in here.

jeepwayoflife Well as far as the cold start and having to let your fuel pump build pressure, that could be your drainback valve. Its letting the pressure out of the gas line and forcing the pump to reapply pressure when you need the Jeep to start.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong

So I've been experiencing the thing where the engine has to turn over a few times in order for the car to do a cold start. If I turn the key to the on position first and let the fuel pressure build, then the car starts right up. The entire time I thought that it was just my fuel pressure regulator, but today, I had my hand on my grill and the engine was rumbling off and on like there is a slight misfire or something. Could one of my fuel injectors be leaking/have a problem? I'm just due for an oil change, so the final thing would be if the oil smelled like gas. Does this sound like a possibility?
