ilkyspony Sorry we missed you! If you did the poker run you would've caught up to us probably by the second stop (we ate). Maybe next time I guess!

ilkyspony Well there's a few people saying they're going to make it. As I've learned in the past, a yes isn't always a yes lol. I can say for certain there will be four wranglers. Those are the ones, including me, that are personal friends of mine so I know they're gonna be there.

Rpkittle Did you hear from anyone else that will be there for sure?
09-11-2012 07:51 PM
ilkyspony Well, it's $25 per player. So you only pay if you plan on drawing cards at the end. As far as the under 21 thing, I don't think it's going to be a big deal. All the stops are also places to eat and it's the middle of the day, so I don't see you having any troubles. Especially if we're all in a group. They're not going to say anything.

Rpkittle Im definitely going to come! Just got a question though, I want to bring the better half with me, should I be prepared to pay $25 per person? or is that per vehicle? And with her being just short of the legal drinking age, will we have a problem entering the destinations? Of course neither of us will be drinking as I'm the only one that knows how to drive a manual trans lol.

ilkyspony It's only a few days away. Anyone definitely coming? Anyone still interested but undecided?

ilkyspony Ok, allow me to explain lol .... they're actually kinda fun.

If you look at the flyer it says "stops to include". Well, when you pay your entrance fee you get a stamp card. At each of the five stops you get a stamp. Each stamp is the equivalent of a playing card. Once you have visited all five stops and received all five stamps you go back to the starting point (fox cycle). Once back there you turn your card in and get to blind draw five cards. That is your poker hand. In the past, the top three hands get some kind of prize. Again in the past, if you weren't happy with your a card or two you could pay a couple more dollars per card and re-draw to try and make a better hand. To summarize, you want to visit all stops and then draw the best poker hand.

After you're back at Fox cycle there is 50/50's, raffles, games, band, food etc. All the stops are bars that serve food. There will be beer back at Fox cycle. Very important note to everyone who reads this and it should go without saying.... if you drink, designate a driver.

Any other questions feel free to ask.

Rpkittle I have to admit that this will be my first poker how does it work exactly? I heard it was some sort of game in a way, traveling from place to place.

ilkyspony I've gotten a few maybes from guys across the jeep spectrum. JamesStineman has been the only one from here to say he actually wanted to come, besides you of course.

Yes, you can absolutely use the Jeep for the run. That was one of my motivators for trying get a group of Jeeps to go. I've been using mine in it for the last couple years. I hope to see you there. If you know anyone who wants to come, regardless of owning a Jeep, tell them to come too.

Rpkittle Hey there!

I think I might be joining you on this poker run. I'm just 20 minutes from Sandusky, as I'm from Amherst. Have you heard of any other jeepers going to this?

Hope to see you there. Oh, and I'm assuming we can use our jeeps for the run? My Yamaha isn't the most reliable thing right now lol.

ilkyspony For those of you who are interested but haven't said anything... I'm hoping to have the Jeep peeps meet around 1:00pm at Fox Cycle. The last vehicle out, per the flyer, is 2:30pm so I'd hope that would give us plenty of time to chat and then hit the road. Any questions y'all can feel free to send me a pm or ask here. Thanks.

ilkyspony I guess if any other jeeps show up I'll assume y'all came from here lol
