lwszabo Yup I paid around 1800 however I got beadwork, bored throttle body, new radiator, new water pump, thermostat and thermostat neck, new exhaust header and mid pipes between header and my exhaust. I know everyone says head work/ throttle body porting is worthless however before 5 th gear was useless, now I can use it!

virginian I think I'm in your category -- I wouldn't mind replacing the heads before it becomes a side-of-the-road issue. Am I looking at $700 or $2000? This would pretty much consume my lift/tire budget, but it definitely takes priority since I'd like to still be behind the wheel of this rig at 200k+.

Is there truly no recourse with Chrysler? This falls into a "recall" in my opinion, but I also assume there is some kind of statute of limitations...

Keep up with the cooling system maint. And keep an eye on the temp gauge. Most failures are from overheating. Also watch the level in the overflow. I had my head changed to the older style however mine was not cracked....just waaaay to anal about my Jeep. Also remember most posts on the net will be Negative no one posts to say my 0331 head is awesome!!!

I've seen several threads on post-failure actions, but not on what to do before. Is there anything I can do (currently at 75k) to be proactive?
