Years ago I saw a CJ with three (3) slightly shaved Subaru Brat seats w/4pt harness for his kids, but he was from Michigan (I'm from Illinois where laws are stricter). I'm sure this question/issue has been brought up before. I would venture this for out on the trail, but I'm asking out on the street also, where side impact would be an issue....Yes safety is #1.....Just in question mode for the forum for now.
2 of 3 kids are of weight/age to not require child seat.

|crallscars||Most states require small children to be in "child seats" The back seat is so narrow I doubt you can put 3 child seats in back. If your state does not require child seats, just bolt a set of belts to the floor.|

|GoldenSahara00||Probably a specialty seat and seat belt with another mount for a seat belt in the tub would be needed. Still sketchy. And seats probably have to meet a safety standard. Always put your kids safety first. I'm glad you asked instead of just trying. I know of at least once guy on here who has done it though.|

TJ Seating Woes
Crazy Question here:
Could it be possible, legal, and (of course) safe to reconfigure the back seat seatbelts to accomadate three children (one's in a booster seat) in a Jeep TJ ???? My only problem with the TJ is the 4 person seating....The backseat width is comparable to some economy sedans that have 3 seatbelts.
