Rooster20 no problem with the throw, just not as smooth as the other gears or honestly what I think it should be. Was just wondering.

JKralph On my 2010 the throw from 2nd to 3rd is difficult from time to time, depending on the rpms, the stick wants to go between 1st and 3rd positions. Not too big a deal IMO.

I don't know if this phenomena i mentioned is anything like the "notchy" feeling you're getting.

low tran oil level

hi, my last 3 jeeps have all been auto, at present 5 speed auto,
however, i did have a previous jeep that had the same type of problem and
it turned out the fluid level in the trans. was a bit low, but since you have
only 3k miles I would take it back to the dealer it's still under warranty and
i am sure it can be resolved at not cost, also ask the dealer to drive another jeep and see how it feels...all the best, the dealer may have a
additive that they add to the trans..

3rd gear real notchy??

I have a 6spd 2011 and my 3rd gear seems really notchy to me. It feels significantly rough going in. Only 3000 miles on the Jeep. I have been driving a manual trans for over half my life, this doesn't feel like it's really grinding but doesn't feel all that smooth in my opinion. It's worse (or more noticeable I should say) at sometimes than others. Anybody else experience this??
