I finally got around to taking the dash back out and running the wires as suggested. I bought a new jack to connect to my Pioneer head unit, and wired as this:
Factory Bluetooth mic:
red (green+yellow): 12vdc fused
white (green): positive audio
black (grey): negative audio
(The colors in parentheses are the color of the wire in the extension cable on the factory mic.)
Powered it up and made a call. The factory mic works! However, there is a lot of static/distortion when talking, with a lot of background noise being picked up. I tried adjusting the mic gain on my head unit, but it did not resolve the problem. So I swapped the plug with the Pioneer mic. This was clearer, but also quieter.
I am going to find a more quiet environment to test and see how it sounds.

The mic wiring should consist of red, black & white wires. What you'll do is disconnect the connector in the "A" pillar, extend the wiring from the mic side of the connector to the radio. The red wire is for the mic power, (I found this to be actually 12 vdc) you'll want to use a low amperage fuse, I think the smallest non glass fuse is 1 amp, this will be powered up with the ignition. The white wire will be the positive audio signal and the black will be the negative or shield audio signal. The radio mic most likely has 2 wires, a positive audio and a shield. Run the extended wires to the radio and connect the fused to power, the audio signals to the mic inputs to the pioneer.

I sincerely doubt that you'll be able to hook up the OEM mic to an aftermarket HU.
I redid my entire sound system.
I used the mic that my HU came with... I'll post a picture of my mic install. Your HU should either have a built in mic or one that you could install like mine.
Definitely go with the PAC SWI steering wheel control if you're using the PAC wiring harness... Using those two together made it so nice, I won't say easy, but it was fairly simple. I love Crutchfield tech support call them and use their tech support to the fullest, they were awesome!!
You will lose the function of the phone button on the steering wheel, I took a black sharpie and marked carefully over the white phone picture. Other then that I have nice steering wheel controls. You will have to program what you want each steering wheel button to do.
I think that others explained about all the other aspects of the back of the stock HU.
The nice thing with the PAC wiring harness(if it's the ~$70 one) is that you don't have any wire cutting behind the HU in the dash.
I don't have any pics of the mic in the jeep yet, but it looks factory to the uneducated.
Have fun with the rest of your install. Crutchfield is great at explaining what all those wires to the different harnesses mean.
Some day I'm going to start a build page for my Sound system. I upgraded everything.

1) the small connector (10 pin square connector) goes to the factory Uconnect module which is mounted behind the HVAC control head.
2) The USB connector in the console is routed to the Uconnect module also.
3) The EVIC messages are sent from the radio on the CAN BUS network.
4) I'm sure that the factory mic can be used, it would take a bit of looking into but can't be to bad. You'd have a pair of mic leads and a small power line (usually about 1.5 - 5 volts). I need to try to find the simple schematics on it.

I presume the steering wheel volume control works for audio as well as the phone?

|Lynskey||I believe you also lose the Phone button on the steering wheel. I think that is a Pioneer thing and not the PAC-SWI. Although I didn't spend a ton of time programming to check. But I think the HU has its' own phone button or icon. Well at least mine does.|

Yes - I would like to use the factory BT mic. I will see about finding out more. I was hoping there was some interface cable from the Jeep wiring to the Pioneer, but it sounds like this is not the case?
Is there any other loss of functionality besides the factory BT mic?

First off don't get the Axxess steering wheel adaptor. It sucks. Especially when getting the PAC CR2-CHY4 harness. You should get the PAC-SWI. It is plug and play, simple to program and no wire splicing. It works directly with the CR2-CHY4. I did the Axxess thing in my palst vehicle and it didn't work. Wiring is different color coding and programming was terrible. If you can get the PAC-SWI, do it.
That said, on the back of the 130, there are 4 plugs as you mentioned - main power plug, smaller plug (3 wires?), Sirius antenna and the FM antenna plugs.
From what I can gather, that small plug connects the signal from the HU to one of several possibilities: 1) the EVIC system, 2)some of the steering wheel functions or 3) the USB plug in the center console. I say that because I had the same question when I put in my hew HU.
In the EVIC menu screen with the factory HU, it used to show the channel that the HU was on. Or the song? Can't remember as I had the HU for literally 5 days before swapping out. But now that mine shows "Radio Off" when I turn the key off but keep the retained power on. So I think that means that little plug does something with the menu screen. Or it is something that is lost in the main harness plug.
Also with the Uconnect, I think that small plug may also carry the signal from the USB plug in the center console? I haven't traced that yet to confirm.
As far as the factory microphone that too no longer works. But not sure if that is part of that little plug? Again I haven't traced it back yet. With your new HU it will have a separate microphone to plug in, just like my Pioneer HU. I was going to see if I could use the factory microphone and splice in that to my mini Pioneer microphone wire. Just haven't had time to see...

replace stock UConnect 130 radio - bluetooth/SWC connections
Now that I have my new 2012 JKU I want to upgrade the stereo . I bought a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH from Crutchfield and removed the stock 130 stereo last night.
My JKU came with the 130 stereo, bluetooth mic and steering wheel controls.
In addition to the P4400BH, I got the adapter from Crutchfield for the radio interface (PAC CR2-CHY4) and bought an Axxess ASWC adapter to ensure the steering wheel controls work. This makes for many more connections than the stock 130.
Does anyone know the layout of the connections on the back of the 130 radio?
What I see:
1) Main wiring harness connector.
2) Next to it, a smaller connector.
3) Two antenna connectors: main antenna and satellite antenna.
What is the smaller connector? Is this for the BT and/or steering wheel controls? It does not connect to the Pioneer IP-BUS input.
I want to be sure I am able to use the stock BT mic with the new stereo, but not sure how this gets connected. Does anyone know?
