|uniballer||First of all, this is awesome. Thanks for posting. I'm planning savvy under armor in my build and this was very useful to me. I think the biggest benefit of this modular approach is probably going to be found in shipping costs, which is good news for me!|

By the time you buy all the parts to make any other skid system an Apples to Apples install, the price difference can be made up by eating or skipping another lunch during the week with one minor exception and that being you don't wind up with a stand alone crossmember you can drive with and you wind up with a wider footprint, much wider.
We have huge amounts of interest in the Original U/A but no one wants to buy it all at once, no one believes that it really does require a 1.25" body lift for certain models and most seem to be married to what ever motor mount lift they have installed and refuse to change it.
Personally I'd much rather remove an existing body lift because then I have a good chance of the bolts not being rusted in place and the same with a MML. Plus there is always someone who is willing to purchase used parts at a slight discount.
The only thing I can attribute it to is once bitten by the mod bug, it seems to revolve around 2-400 dollar chunks and more than that won't get bought.

|jgorm||I'm not sure I understand. If you need to save up $400+ to buy a jeep part, but can't control yourself to save that much, and you need to buy piece by piece, you probably shouldn't be buying more jeep parts.|

So I went wheeling yesterday and destroyed my rear DS.
No. Just kidding. I checked it like Blaine told me to Friday night and it was all good.
I tried to test out this new Savvy UA, along with my Savvy GTS on the rocks of Dishpan but no luck. Everything is tucked up so high that nothing scraps or touches. At one point I really put on a show for everyone and took a super hard line, bounced all over the place and almost flopped but in the end all I got for my efforts were some applause from the folks watching. The only thing I bumped all day was my rear diff. I guess that is kind of the point of these Savvy products.

OK final tally. It should be noted that I installed this by myself, in half a day, in my garage, using basic hand tools, one jack, and two jack stands WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS.
Pretty simple to figure out.
The cross member brace, skid plate and three factory bolts along the frame hang down a total of .75" from the frame.
The center 13" of the skid plate itself is 1.75" below the frame rails.
Can't wait to add the engine / oil pan / transmission portion.:thumbsup:

|rkwfxd||OK here are a couple of more "pre-paint" photos of the cross member and supports. I have had great luck with Rustoleum Satin Black over the past 30+ years so that is what I am using here. I wiped everything down with lacquer thiner first.|

And yes, you have every reason. After installing a couple of these systems, they're top notch. I was planning on doing my own separate crossmember and aluminum skid but after seeing this, I may go this route instead. I'm burnt out on fab work and just want to put my welder in the corner of the garage for about 6 months. This is looking like an excellent option.

NEW Savvy MODULAR Under Armor
Who has two thumbs and is one lucky SOB?
I just got home with a pre-production NEW Savvy Modular Tummy Tuck Under Armor Skid Plate.
If you haven't already heard about it, it is very similar to their standard Under Armor but is designed to be purchased separately as your funds allow.
You can buy just the transmission cross brace, then the t-case skid, then the engine/oil pan/transmission skid.
Should make it easier for those of us on a tight budget to eventually get our tummies tucked.
Before you install this UA you are also going to need:
Adjustable Upper Rear Control Arms
Probably Novak Cable for the T-Case.
I have been building my jeep for over a year and have slowly added all of the above so it is ready for the new UA.
This kit is so new that there are no instructions yet and in fact the first production run has not yet been completed.
I have a couple of photos here that we took in the Savvy shop so that I could have some idea how to install it.
I will post more photos as I go.
