JKUcrush12 Thanks for the input. got the wheels and switched the kevlars for the dura tracs.. LOVE them... Absolutely NO road noise, no vibration.. GREAT tires. You have no idea how many forum posts i've read with so many conflicting stories about the noise and inability to balance.. got depressing... from what I've read, there are far too many people judging and NOT actually owning..

Oh yeah went a head and put a rough country 3.5 inch lift on it as well.. Contrary to many MANY posts, the r/c rides amazing.. I love it..

Dutchboy101 Try entering that you have a Rubicon. They come with 17" wheels, and that might fix the issue.

mgagerjr IDK for sure, but something to consider is brake clearance.

JKUcrush12 Actually I'm going down one inch in wheel diameter. These tires will really be taller.

jeepers29 YTou are losing ground clearance by moving down a tire size

Rubiconlj I dont know why going down in wheel size would get you that message.? Hope someone has an answer for you. Im interested to learn why

I would like a lil input. I'm searching for wheels and tires for a 2012 JKU sahara. I know what I want as far as brand and size. 285/70/17. I want to do away with the stock 18's, but when I enter my info on any of the sites they all say those wont fit. Also when I do build a package It appears that price differences range from $100-$600, depending on website. Any suggestions as far as where to go to get the best deals?
Should I order them separate, instead of a "package"?

Wheels= XD 795 hoss/black 17x9-5on5
Tires=Wrangler mt/r with Kevlar

does this sound like a decent setup for a "stock" sahara?
