Jacqui Rugged Ridge on Amazon
^ Amazon carries the Rugged Ridge gas door cover, which is the one I picked out. They have other brands if you want to poke around. Bolts right into existing holes, so it's simple installation. We'll be getting one. It's on our long list haha. Honestly, if someone is incredibly serious about wanting to get into your gas tank, they are sure to find a way. The reason to have it is a deterrent. Most criminals look for the easiest targets. If you make things a bit more difficult, they'll typically move on. Haven't had the chance to look into locking hoods yet, but that, of course, is also on the list.

The key issue is annoying... that's the reason people want a matching set... either with the ignition and/or the gas.

If you drive a rag top and gave up worrying about some drunk p*ssing in your vehicle... be reminded that other jeep owners drive hard tops and lock up whatever they can...

Anybody familiar with Rugged Ridge products, as per above? Vendors aren't responding, which is usually a negative, but sometimes they're just lazy or don't know their own product inventory.

WRH Rugged Ridge makes a hood lock, and a locking gas cover door. Does anybody know if the keys can be matched?

The locking gas cap is cheaper, but it can be more easily twisted off with a pair of pliers.

medic1555 I used to keep a locking gas cap on all of my vehicles until I tried one day to siphen some gas out of one of them. Turns out, new vehicles are darn near impossible to siphen due to a anti-spill valve in the filler neck. In case a vehicle over turns it keeps fuel from spilling out onto the ground. Only real reason for a locking cap now would be to keep a**holes from putting anything IN your tank.

No prob. You can generally modify any oem mesh insert to allow for a keyhole. Just depends on your level of give a crap. They do have hood latches for the sides that lock, but idk if you can get them keyed to your ignition key or not

orngcrushrgrl I diy'ed my grille inserts and just left a hole in the top of the middle one where the mopar locking latch will go...

MichiganJeepster If you have a mesh grille insert the hood locks wont work but the hood latches that lock will. The hood locks mount in the top of the grille and you need to be able to access them from the grille slots that are filled in with the mesh grille inserts. I just installed the Metal Crafters grille insert yesterday and it fit perfectly. The most expensive but its stainless steel and made in america, very sturdy and looks like it came from the factory with it. Keeps rocks, bugs, birds and hybrids out of my grille. LOL

MichiganJeepster Rampage makes both $89.99 for hood latches and $64.99 for Gas cap. Checking into them right now for my jeep.

Border Dave As far as I know, the best hood lock is the one from Tuffy. It can't be keyed to your ignition, but if you have other Tuffy products, it can be keyed to those.

Locking Gas Cap/Hood Latch

Really hate not having a locking gas cap and having the hood accessible to anyone who wants to walk up and open it. Are there any locking gas caps and/or hood latches? Ideally, I'd like them keyed to the same key as my ignition if possible.
