orange05tj I may just use that wheel paint they sell. Did it before on my old rims and never had a problem with it. Lasted for a couple years till the car got totaled.

Lancem Have them bead blasted and powdercoat will stick fine. Paint will too with the proper primer, powdercoat is the way to go though. I did my factory wheels last week in black wrinkle powdercoat, came out nice. I'll try to get some pics up to show you how they look.

Coyote_94YJ I wouldn't try and paint or powdercoat those. I think you'll have issues getting good adhesion. You can get the Cragar Soft 8's for as little as 41.95 each from Summit Racing.

I absolutely love them.
This is the closest pic I have of them on my rig.

orange05tj I was quoted $80 per rim to powder coat them and was told it may not hold well. Im thinking of painting mine black

h8nagn I have had a few things powder coated for fairly cheap. Twice I have just looked on Craigslist for "powder coat", most of the people that post the service purchased the gear to do stuff of there own and just try to make some money back. Of course everyone is different so your experiance might not be the same.

02Prove You can probably get some black soft 8's for cheaper than the price of powder coating those though. They look very similar.

whiteyj Bet you'd spend a bunch more finding someone to prep and powdercoat those vs. selling yours and buying new black rims.

Velez92YJ powder coated, cool. Can I do that or do I need to have special gear?

h8nagn Not sure how well paint would stick to an aluminum wheel but you can have them powder coated. That will last a lot longer and is a very rugged finish.

Painting Rims?

I like the rims that came with my YJ, but I would prefer solid black rims. Does anyone know if these can be painted? And if so,how?
