lynskynbnd I forgot to update this thread with the finished product.
I have wired a 4 pin trailer connector, towed and recovered with the bumper.
Works well.

Simple YJ rear bumper

I want to keep the stock look, so I built this bumper. 1/4" thick 2"x4" square tube 5' long. 2" receiver welded both sides. Ends caped off with 14ga sheet. Mounted with stock frame holes to accomadate the stock bumperettes.

About $35 invested
$20 for tube, $5 for bolts, $5 for paint, $5 for wire.
4 hours time invested.
Receiver and bumperettes were free.
