I had a 2" bb and 33's, it did good offroad and handled well on the street. Less than a year later I went with a full suspension lift. I went with the rough country 4" kit. Im very happy with it on and offroad.

|AzTJ||Steer clear of Rough Country coil springs. They sag... badly. The spacers are not an issue.|

|jgano23||dont go with a body lift just so you can fit bigger tires. especially a 2" or more it really doesnt give you any benefits as far as offroad performance goes|

|Optiskate||Spacers and shocks are all you need for a BB. I ran mine with 2" spacers and and 33" tires for along time. I had slight drive shaft vibrations coming from my rear drive shaft, but it seems as though not every one has the same issue as I had. You shouldn't really have any damage aside from some slight wallet damage.|

If you don't plan on going bigger for awhile, then 2" spacers will serve you well and be cheap. That would let your run your 32's. I personally think body lifts look tacky and don't recommend them. Not to mention with the bigger ones you have to correct shifter geometry and such, which I guess isn't that big of a deal, but it its just one more issue to deal with.
Personally, if your new to wheeling, then I say do the 32's and have fun with it. Learn your rig and what your capable of. If you're not so new, then I'd just jump straight to what you want out of it. If you want tons and 38's, then do what you have to do rather than doing it in small jumps and wasting a ton of money.
Either way, you're going to want an unlimited specific lift if you're replacing control arms.

|Unlimited||If you're just going for looks, then what you are suggesting will work. If you plan to wheel it, I wouldn't go with anything less than a 3" suspension lift and a 1" body lift. You would also do well to include a 1" motor mount lift too.|

And for proper fit, at least 2" of lift on a TJ is needed for 32" tires.

|flattietj||i would never lift mine again unless it was a long arm lift.....the minute you lift it is the minute it steers and drives like shit....and by the way you can clear those 32s with a 2" body lift....i have a buddy that runs 33s on a 1" body lift with no rub.......on a reg rubicon|

05 unlimited lift and tires
I have a stock 05 unlimited and am looking for a lift and tires. My first question is do I need to look for a specific lift design for the unlimited or will the regular 05 tj lifts work with me? Also, I'm looking to get at least 32" tires so what would be the best amount of lift(and brand) for the cheapest price and no further modifications? I was thinking maybe a 2 or 2.5" suspension and a 1 or 2" body lift. Thanks for the help!
