I agree with the above check the hangers my rear one that holds the tale pipe up will rattle if I reposition it it stops for a while. Much easier to tolerate when you know what it is.

jupiterboy Look at any heat shields and check the hangers, which can get reversed or jammed up so the exhaust sits too close to a shield or other structure.

MOz I had a similar problem. I bent my tailpipe a little bit while rock crawling and when I started it up it would rattle against the aftermarket bumper.

I used the floor jack handle to bend it back down....no more problems.

bardenk1 check your muffler over time the body cracks and it will rattle a little bit over time and get worse. also check your hangers you have one on the back for the tailpipe, one directly above your axle, and one thats also your transmission mount and thats in your skid-plate.

jgano23 could be catalytic converter. if it gets smashed it'll break the ceramic inside and rattle. did you bang up the underside at all?

Rattle from exhaust on start up??

2005 TJ 6cyl, auto. on cold startups sounds like a rattle from exhaust mid vehicle area. When warm seems to go away. Any ideas, or experience with this? I can't seem to figure out where it's coming from? Thanks John
